We are currently seeking an experienced Estimator to work cohesively within our estimating department for ground-up commercial projects across the greater NYC area. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing both hard bids and conceptual estimates for projects ranging up to $10MM. Job description
An Estimator in the Building and Construction industry will:
- Prepare take-offs
- Prepare detailed estimates including assigning material and labor value take-offs.
- Acquire vendor pricing on specialty materials, equipment and systems. Evaluate and assist with subcontractor and vendor scope and pricing review.
- Participate and coordinate in project kick-off and turn-over meetings while performing the duties of this job.
- Assist Project Managers with preparing Change-Orders, Attending Meetings and preparing project logs/schedules.
What you’ll need to succeed as Construction Estimator
- The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills
- Five years of experience
- Proficiency in Excel, word, and CAD
- Experience with NYC exterior construction projects preferred
- Knowledge of architectural plans, specifications and/or construction terminology
- Experience with take-off software preferred (Bluebeam Revu)
